14U Midsummer Classic Tournament
Who: 14U Open Division
Cost: $750 per Team | 3 Game Guarantee
14U Tournament July 13th - 15th
Come compete against some of the best youth travel baseball teams from around the Midwest, while receiving instruction from Creighton Baseball players and staff! This is a unique opportunity to play games on a college campus and learn the game from a college baseball staff. All games will be played at the CU Sports Complex.

Location: CU Sports Complex - Baseball Field

General Information:

  • Each team will be guaranteed 3 games, weather permitting, with the refund policy as follows:
    • 0 Games Played - $450 of Entry Fee
    • 1 Game Played - $250 of Entry Fee
    • 2 Games Played - $100 of Entry Fee
    • 3 Games Played - No Refund
  • Each team will receive pregame instruction in our indoor facility from a member of the Creighton Baseball Staff.
  • Parents/fans will have unlimited access to the adjacent Kitty Gaughan Pavilion for indoor and outdoor patio seating, which overlooks the CU Sports Complex.
  • One to two umpires, game balls and water will be provided for each game.
  • Teams are responsible for having their own equipment.
  • Teams are responsible for meals, housing and transportation.
  • All friends and family are encouraged to attend.
  • There will be no charge for admission as it is covered in the tournament fee.
  • Creighton Baseball merchandise will be on sale throughout camp.

Tournament Will Follow USSSA Rules unless otherwise noted.

Innings: All games will be 7 innings – standard extra innings will be played to break ties if the game is still under the time limit.

Dimensions: Base paths – 90 feet. Pitching distance – 60 feet, 6 inches.

Time Limit: Home plate umpire will record time with no new inning starting after 1:30 into the game.

Run Rules: 15 runs after 3 innings, 12 runs after 4 innings, 8 runs after 5 innings.

Infield Practice: No team infield practice will be allowed. All warmups will be done in the outfield.

Home Team: Home teams will be determined by coin flip.

Pitching Limitations: No pitcher shall exceed 8 innings pitched on the weekend. No pitcher shall exceed 6 innings pitched in a single day. If a pitcher throws more than 3 innings in a single day, he will not be able to throw the following day.

Mandatory Slide Rule: A mandatory slide rule will be in effect at the discretion of the umpire.

Extra Hitter: Teams will be allowed an unlimited number of extra hitters, but must declare their EHs when turning in their lineups before the start of the game.

Courtesy Runner: Courtesy runners will be allowed for the pitcher and catcher. Courtesy runners must be a player not currently in the lineup or the last recorded out.

Substitutions: Players may be substituted and re-enter at any time.

Designated Hitter: No designated hitters will be allowed.

Game Misconduct: No coach, player or fan shall, at any time, attempt to incite by word or sign, any unsportsmanlike conduct or demonstration by spectators. If a player, coach or fan displays poor sportsmanship or misconduct, they will be ejected from the game and suspended for one game.

Tournament Director: The tournament director reserves the right to alter format of any tournament event in order to finish the tournament event in a timely manner. This includes shortening minimum game guarantees, modifying game schedules, time limits and innings per game if necessary. Additionally, every effort will be made to finish the tournament but in case of rain, darkness or other acts of nature, the tournament director reserves the right to shorten games or modify schedules in order to finish event.

Teams Backing Out: Teams backing out of the tournament within 30 days of the start date will not be refunded. The rain out refund policy is listed above.
